Whistler has earned it’s reputation as one of the world's best ski destinations, but summer reveals a completely different side of the community.

Instead of snow, the mountains are covered in wildflowers and alpine hiking trails. The lakes become gathering places for paddleboarders, swimmers, and families. (Did you know we have 5 main lakes in Whistler, but over 15 total?). Patios fill with people enjoying long evenings, live music, and mountain views. We even have a free outdoor concert series that runs all summer in Olympic Plaza.

One of the things we hear most from homeowners is that owning in Whistler changes how they spend their weekends.

Instead of planning months in advance or searching for accommodations, they simply pack the car and head up.

A typical summer weekend might include:

One of our favourite things about living and working in Whistler is how connected you feel to nature. It's not unusual to spot deer on your morning walk or watch black bears grazing peacefully on ski runs in the early evening. (From a safe distance, of course!). If you're really lucky, you'll spot a beaver when you're floating down the River of Golden Dreams.

There are hundreds of kilometres of hiking and biking trails, crystal-clear lakes, waterfalls, and mountain viewpoints all within minutes of home. For many people, that's the biggest luxury of all.

Whistler may be an international resort, but it still feels like a community. Throughout the summer you'll find outdoor concerts, local markets, charity events, youth sports, neighbourhood gatherings, and festivals that bring people together. Whether you've lived here for twenty years or you're visiting for the first time, there's a welcoming energy that's hard to describe until you experience it for yourself.

We often meet visitors who arrive planning nothing more than a relaxing holiday. Then something changes.
