Supporting Our Community, One Home at a Time

There’s something special about living in Whistler. It’s not just the mountains, the lifestyle, or the beauty. It’s the sense of community. People here genuinely show up for each other, and that’s one thing we never want to take for granted.
One of the organizations at the heart of that support system is Whistler Community Services Society. Right now, their Food Bank is working toward an important goal of raising $100,000 over the next eight weeks, leading up to June 10- and we want to show up for them the way they show up for the community.
In 2025 alone, the Whistler Food Bank saw 20,175 visits. That number truly reflects the growing pressure many individuals and families in our community are facing. Food costs have risen more than 25 percent since 2021- this creates a domino effect, when it’s harder for people to make ends meet, it’s also increasingly difficult for organizations like WCSS to keep up with demand.
What is especially striking is who is being impacted. Whistler Food Bank visits from children and youth under the age of 17 are up 26% over the previous year, as are visits from those over 50. These are our neighbours, families, and community members who are feeling the effects of rising costs in a very real way.
WCSS provides a wide range of support that many people rely on, often quietly and behind the scenes. We’re talking about the food bank right now, but their outreach programs also offer assistance to people navigating financial hardship, housing instability, or unexpected life challenges. They also provide mental health support, counselling services, and resources for families, youth, and seniors. All without judgment and with genuine care.
This initiative is extra meaningful for us because our connection to WCSS is personal. Hillary works with the emergency overnight shelter through Whistler Community Services Society and sees firsthand the impact these services have. When her schedule allows, she also volunteers at the Food Bank, which offers a deeper understanding of just how many people rely on this support and how important it is that it continues.
In a place like Whistler, where things can look picture perfect from the outside, it is easy to forget that many people in our community are quietly struggling. WCSS plays a huge role in making sure those individuals and families do not fall through the cracks.
We wanted to find a meaningful way to contribute.
Between now and June 10, the Whistler Property Sisters Team will donate $150 for every property we close to the Food Bank’s $100,000 fundraising initiative, whether we are representing the buyer or the seller.
If you have been thinking about buying or selling, this is a chance for your move to have an added impact. And if now is not the right time, we still encourage you to support Whistler Community Services Society directly. Every contribution helps them continue the incredible work they do.
We feel beyond lucky to live and work here, and even more grateful to be part of a community that looks out for one another.
